Local Attractions Pictured left is a hungry tarpon being hand fed at the
famous Robbie's
of Islamorada. This is one of many great attractions you
will find here in the upper Florida Keys.
While fishing is a huge part of this area's history, snorkeling
and diving is also a really big draw. There are countless reefs
and wrecks to explore all throughout the Keys with many of them
being in the upper Keys. We're not really divers but here
is a site we found offered by
Key
Dives out of Bud n' Mary's at MM 78.2 ocean side.
There are very few actual beaches in the Keys and that's what
makes
Founders Park in Islamorada
such a find. Located less than 1 mile
from the house, this park offers many amenities including a
private white sand beach on the bay, a marina, an Olympic size
pool and much more (certain fees may apply). There are also many
great events held here such as concerts, a boat show, festivals,
etc.
Spending so much time in the Keys over the last fifteen or so
years, we have visited many of the local attractions and also
sampled a lot of the local food. There is a lot to see and do no
matter what your interests.
We've taken the time to
list some of our favorite restaurants and attractions. With most
of these spots, we've had very good experiences over the years. |
